Anna, who attended our on line group and successfully quit, had the following to say about her experience:
"I found the on line group Service useful for many reasons. It's good to have professional support. I felt I was treated individually which is a big advantage. I also enjoyed anonymity and time allocated. One hour is much much better than 10-15 minutes you're usually allocated at the local surgeries.
Although I thought I knew everything about quitting as I've being trying all my life, I have to say I also learned new things - thank you. I was really glad to have opportunity to discuss all the issues and have the support and encouragement and understanding.
I still don't smoke. Finally took off the patches and I am so so much happier:) I think my weight is back to normal and I have much more energy."

Maxine came along to our group at Ramsgate Library and successfully quit smoking. This is what she had to say:
"Going to the group at my local library made me feel at ease as it is a place I know pretty well having 3 children. The meeting rooms are large but welcoming, bright and fresh, modern but comfortable.
I've tried to stop smoking a few times now and I am glad to say that I've done it at last; I am no longer a smoker! I do believe that I owe my success to a number of factors: the support of the stop smoking group, being around others going through the same battle, the aid of the patches which take the edge off it all, and my children reminding me that I smell fresher.
It is a battle and, even with all the support you are given you still have to put the effort in - but it pays. I know I'm fitter, even though I haven't run a marathon (and probably never will). I know I smell fresher and my teeth feel cleaner and, best of all, I always have money in my purse".
